KUALA LUMPUR: The ceiling of Concorde Hotel caved in on Thursday, causing a portion of the hotel’s lobby to be severely damaged. However, it was reported that no one was injured in the incident that happened around 5.30pm Thursday. According to reports, a security officer had informed that the hotel was under renovation. Meanwhile, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department when contacted byAstro AWANI said they did not receive any report about the incident. Its assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul however said the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department was aware about the matter. “They (the hotel owner) did not call us…. maybe it was just a small incident,” he told. Concorde Hotel Shah Alam is four-star hotel built in 1996, comprising of 381 rooms elegantly furnished with an array of modern amenities. Located in the heart of Shah Alam, it is also the only hotel in Shah Alam has three HALAL certificates for the kitchens.
