KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 – A Malindo Air aircraft’s fire detection system was activated this morning when the aircraft was flying at about 7,000 feet en route to Kuala Terengganu from the Subang Airport. The fire system was triggered five minutes after the flight took off from the Subang Airport at 7.35 am. The operating crew immediately carried out the emergency check list as per the standard operating procedure to contain the situation
“The captain decided to turn back to Subang and the aircraft landed safely without any further incident. No one was hurt. All the passengers were later transferred to another flight to Terengganu,” the Malaysian hybrid airline said in a statement. The airline said the cause of the incident is being investigated and has been reported to the relevant authorities, the engine and aircraft manufacturers.
