Signing Of Bangsamoro Peace Accord Gets Underway In Manila



MANILA, March 27 – The signing ceremony of the landmark Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) gets underway in the Philippine capital Thursday. Philippine President Benigno Aquino III was joined at the momentous occasion by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak of Malaysia, the country which helped broker the peace accord aimed at achieving a long-lasting peace, thus ending decades of bloody conflict in the southern Philippines. Najib, who was joined at the event by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, was welcomed on arrival at the Malacanang Palace by the Philippine leader. The signing ceremony of the CAB is taking place on the grounds of the palace.
