23 Areas Record Moderate API At 1 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 – Twenty-three areas nationwide recorded moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) as at 1 pm Friday, while 26 others showed a good reading.

According to the Department of Environment, the moderate readings included Alor Setar (59), Bakar Arang (Sg. Petani)(63), Bukit Rambai (51), Nilai (68), Port Dickson (58), Balok Baru (Kuantan)(51), Jalan Tasek (Ipoh)(60), Kg Air Putih (Taiping)(54), SK Jalan Pegoh (Ipoh)(65), Seri Manjung (75), Tanjung Malim (53), Kangar (56), Perai (61), Seberang Jaya (Perai) (57), and USM (74).

The others were Banting (84), Kuala Selangor (79), Pelabuhan Kelang (80), Petaling Jaya (61), Shah Alam (78), Kemaman (69), Batu Muda (Kuala Lumpur) (58) and Cheras (Kuala Lumpur)(65).

API readings between 0 and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 10 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 above (hazardous).
