KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 – The 2013 Auditor-General’s First Series Report on the federal government, federal statutory bodies and state governments will be tabled in Parliament Monday. According to a statement by the Auditor-General today, an audit of the performance of 54 departments and 19 administrative audits of government-linked companies at the federal and state levels had been carried out. “These audits were in the areas of construction, maintenance, law enforcement, procurement, asset management, income tax management, socio-economic improvement programmes, agriculture, infrastructure, environment and company management,” it said.

The Audit Department also made 109 recommendations to the federal government, 24 to the federal statutory bodies and 170 to the state governments, for improvement and to rectify the weaknesses which were reported. The Treasury Department also issued a Feedback Report on the 2013 Auditor-General’s First Series Report which gave details of the latest summary/action from the Head of Service on the issues that were reported. Details of the report and its synopsis can be obtained from the Auditor-General’s website http://www.audit.gov.my from tomorrow.
