PUTRAJAYA, April 12 – The people should not be duped by the opposition’s propaganda, which slanders the government over the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370. Putrajaya member of parliament Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, who is also the Federal Territories Minister, said the opposition had made many slanderous remarks about the government over the MH370 issue, including some unfounded speculations. “Their action will create turmoil in the country and at the same time, smear the good name of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak,” he said when speaking at the official opening of the Al-Falah surau in Precinct 9 here Friday night.

Flight MH370 which carried 227 passengers and 12 crew departed from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 12.41am on March 8 before disappearing from the radar screen about one hour later as it was over the South China Sea. The plane was scheduled to land in Beijing at 6.30am the same day. He said the slanderous statements made by the opposition were against the teachings of Islam and the people should assess them. “It is common practice for the opposition to slander the government in all issues,” he said. Tengku Adnan also advised the local residents not to misuse the surau provided by the government in Precinct 9 and not to use it to spread false news.
