PUTRAJAYA, April 28 – Board members of the Malaysia-America Foundation paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak here Monday. The meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office lasted 45 minutes. Present at the meeting were the foundation’s co-chairs Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid for Malaysia and James Keith for the United States. According to Munir, the objective of the foundation was to further strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries. “We will be active in many areas but we need support of related parties to ensure success,” he said when met by reporters. He said among the areas in focus was education, including student exchange. “Apart from student exchange, we are also giving attention to science, technology and innovation as well as tourism,” he said. The foundation was established in October last year.
