KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 – Two men were charged with cheating a woman technician by posing as Malaysia Airlines (MAS) stewards and offering her a stewardess position. Khairul Nizam Ahmad Khairul Anuar, 28 and Muhammad Solihin Jaludin, 27, who were accused separately however pleaded not guilty to cheating Noor Izamira Jaludin, 30 at Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, on April 9. Both the accused allegedly deceived Noor Izamira that they were head steward and steward with the airline by showing her MAS work and security passes and saying they could recruit her as a stewardess.

Noor Izamira then had given RM450 to Khairul Nizam for a stewardess’ uniform. They were charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code which provides for up to 10 years in prison, caning or fine, upon conviction. Magistrate Saifulakmal Said allowed Khairul Nizam a bail of RM1,800 with one surety but denied bail to Muhammad Solihin. Prosecuting officer Nom Phot Prackdot conducted the prosecution, while part-time worker Khairul Nizam and unemployed Muhammad Solihin were unrepresented. Mention was set for June 2.
