Media Centre For Bukit Gelugor By-election Begins Operation



GEORGE TOWN, May 10 – The media centre for the Bukit Gelugor parliamentary by-election run by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia has started operations Saturday The ministry’s Principal Assistant Secretary (Media Coordination Division), Suwadi Guliling said the centre, located at the MARA Building, Weld Quay, would play a relations role and provide various facilities to media personnel covering the by-election process.

“We will also set up a special ‘Whatsapp’ group for personnel registered at the media centre to enable information to be channelled in a more efficient manner besides facilitating ‘question and answer’ matters,” he told Bernama. He said that the centre that could accommodate up to 60 people at any one time also provided a press conference room, computers, wi-fi, telephones and facsimile for use by the personnel involved. The media centre would be open from 8.30am up to midnight until May 25 and could be contacted at telephone number 04-2613323 and facsimile 04-2610448.
