KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 – Barisan Nasional (BN) is determined to increase its majority of votes in seven polling districts in Pengkalan Kubor in the state by-election on September 25, according to the BN by-election director Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed. He said the Umno Youth, Wanita and Puteri wings have been instructed to work hard to achieve the objective of increasing the number of votes compared with that garnered in the general election last year. “Our strategy is to win in our seven stronghold districts, including Simpangan, Jubakar Darat and Bendang Pak Yong, and we hope the majority of votes in these areas will be higher. “We also want to win in the five polling districts that did not favour BN (where PKR won GE13) or at least reduce the opposition’s majority,” he said in Tumpat today.
