KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 – The air quality in most areas nationwide was good this afternoon with no area recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) as of 1pm. According to a portal report of the Department of Environment (DOE), 28 areas recorded moderate API while 23 others recording good API. The highest API were recorded in Muar, Johor (92), Melaka City (91) and Bukit Rambai (89), Larkin Lama (83) followed by Pasir Gudang and Port Dickson, each recording API of 82.
Langkawi recorded the best API at 15. A reading is categorised as good (0-50), moderate (51-100), unhealthy (101-200), very unhealthy (201-300) and very dangerous (301 upwards). The public can refer to the DOE website at http://www.doe.gov.my.
