RM2.7 Billion To Boost High-Speed Broadband – Bernama



KUALA LUMPUR – A total of RM2.7 billion will be spent over the next three years to build 1,000 new telecommunications towers and lay undersea cables, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak when presenting the Budget 2015 at parliament today. Najib, who is also finance minister, said the allocation aimed to increase the capacity of high-speed broadband (HSBB). “The HSBB will continue to be implemented in areas of high economic impact, covering state capitals and selected major towns nationwide,” he said. The budget, themed “Budget 2015: People Economy”, involves an expenditure of RM273.9 billion. – Bernama, October 10, 2014.
