GEORGE TOWN, Oct 19 – Two fishermen feared drowned after a boat is believed to have sunk in the waters near Pantai Jerejak, here, just now. Small boat carrying two men believed to have sunk after a leak while fishing around 2.50pm yesterday. Region Marine Police Commander (1) Penang, Assistant Commissioner, Mohd Yusof Abdullah said the department received a report from the state police headquarters about the incident around 3 o’clock this afternoon.

“A marine boat was ordered to the scene of the search and rescue operation. “We still can not detect the exact position of the sunken boat and the information is not yet available,” he said when contacted. It is learned that search and rescue operation is still ongoing Marine Police and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Maritime District Two.
