PUTRAJAYA, Oct 28 – The appeal proceedings of former deputy minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, which began at the Federal Court here today, has been extended to Thursday. During the morning session, the defence counsel, led by retired federal court judge Datuk Gopal Sri Ram, was asked by Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria on the duration to present their arguments which led the latter to give his consent for proceedings to be extended.

Throughout today’s proceeding, which adjourned twice including for lunch break, Sri Ram consistently argued the credibilityof his client’s ex-aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan. Other defence counsel members, N. Surendran, Sangeet Kaur Deo and Ram Karpal Singh were also present.
