Najib Gives Away Prizes To CIMB Classic Golf Championship Winners
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Sunday presented the US$1.26 million (RM4 million) prize money to Ryan Moore, winner of the CIMB Classic Golf Championship held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) in Bukit Kiara, here. Ryan Moore, 31, the defending champion from the United States, won the CIMB Classic golf title for the second successive year after posting a 17-under 271. Najib who arrived at the KLGCC at 1.45pm was greeted by CIMB Group chief executive Datuk Seri Nazir Razak.
Meanwhile, Nazir in his brief speech during the prize giving ceremony said the CIMB Classic Golf Championship will continue next year and hoped the Malaysian government will continue its support for the prestigious event. The golf championship which was the brainchild of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has received overwhelming response from the best golfers and watched by millions of viewers worldwide via television, he said.
