KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 – The road stretch from Jalan Imbi to Jalan Hang Tuah has been reopened to traffic since 2.20 pm Monday, said Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib. He said the three-lane road was closed to facilitate resurfacing work of roads in the open-cut area which was completed last Wednesday.
The two-lane road stretch from Jalan Hang Tuah to Jalan Imbi was re-opened to traffic since last Sept 29, he said during a visit to watch work to repair the area affected by a sinkhole at Jalan Pudu here. He said the remaining work at the Pudu Underpass would be ready by December 10.
Meanwhile, construction work of side walls and top slabs at the U-turn from Cheras to Jalan Pudu and Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah is scheduled to be ready on Wednesday. Last July 2, part of the road at the intersection of Jalan Pudu and Jalan Hang Tuah, where an underground tunnel was being constructed, collapsed, believed due to a burst underground pipe.
