Price Of Cigarettes To Go Up By RM1.50 From Tomorrow
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 – The price of six cigarette brands will be increased by RM1.50 from tomorrow. The affected brands are produced by British American Tobacco (M) Berhad (BAT Malaysia), Dunhill, Kent, Benson & Hedges, Lucky Strikes, Pall Mall, Rothmans and Peter Stuyvesant. According to a statement by Commercial Marketers and Distributors Sdn Bhd, the price hike is due to an increase in excise duty.
The statement revealed that a pack of 20 Lucky Strike and Rothmans International would be sold at RM14. A box of Dunhill, Benson & Hedges and Kent will now be sold at RM13.50. Smokers will now have to pay RM12 for a pack of Peter Stuyvesant.
