Youths Shouldn’t Be Sidelined From Bakti’s Programmes, Activities – Rosmah
PUTRAJAYA, Nov 8 – The young generation or the Generation Y should not be sidelined from participating on activities and programmes organised by the Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti). Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is Bakti president, said by luring more youths to participate in its programmes, Bakti could share its experience and inculcate a caring attitude among the young people.
“That is why Bakti is organising the Genexter Forum to listen to the young people’s aspiration and to learn what’s on their minds,” she said when opening the forum here today. Rosmah said the forum was also be the best interactive platform to answer all questions from the Generation Y. The forum, moderated by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, was organised in conjunction with the Karnival Genexter Bakti 2014 which is being held at Dataran Putrajaya from today until tomorrow with the theme ‘Empowering Future Generation’.
Rosmah said as the heirs of the country, these young people would be the one who would ensure continuous achievement of the country’s visions, aspirations and reputation. With the number of young people under the age of 30 reaching almost nine million, no one could really deny the importance for the country’s leadership to seriously take into account the ideas and problems faced by the generation, she said. “The same goes with Bakti. Bakti has always been concerned about those in need of aid and support, be it senior citizens, single mothers, children and the Generation Y,” she added.
