PUTRAJAYA, Nov 9 – The prime minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has advised the young generation against going for short-term passion and sacrificing peace and solidarity that has long been established. She said the young generation must use their sanity and wisdom in studying and evaluating any issue that might crop up.
“If we wish to progress, we have no choice but to apply the capacity of our mind to the optimum level to compete in the international arena,” she said at the official opening of the Genexter Carnival 2014 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, here today. Also present at the event were cabinet ministers, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, state leaders and their wives.
Rosmah, who is also president of the Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti), said what was important was the need for the youths to be skilled in screening information. She said the youths must be open-minded based on wisdom instead of being governed by uncontrolled emotion that would only be to the detriment of every one.
Rosmah also called on the leaders to also strive to build a bright future for the youths who formed the country’s assets in bringing development and emerging as a great force. “Certainly, we plan all these for the good and comfort of the youths in future,” she said. The two-day Genexter Carnival beginning yesterday, organised by Bakti and carrying the theme ‘Memperkasa Generasi Pewaris’ or Empowering the Future Generation, lined up several interesting activities such as a career carnival, briefing on the Goods and Services Tax and religious forums.
