Leaders Who Failed Must Give Others A Chance To Lead – Dr Mahathir
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 – Leaders who failed must give others a chance to lead instead, said former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. He said if a matter cannot be resolved properly, a leader should be responsible and hand the task to others who are more qualified. “I believe that if we have been at it a long time and we don’t succeed, give it to others. I myself stopped because I wanted to give the place to others.
“If we cannot succeed in our task, we hand over to others and we support others. That is how we can become a leader,” he said at a press conference held after officiating the Kuala Lumpur Summit Conference 2014, here Tuesday. Dr Mahathir was commenting on his criticism of the Selangor Umno leadership which he said should accept the reality that they needed to back down after the defeat of the 12th and 13th General Elections.
