KOTA KINABALU, Nov 16 – The ePerolehan (ePC) Centre at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) Sabah here, will offer companies registration services for the Goods and Service Tax (GST).
Suriati Mohd Said, Deputy President, Corporate Communications and Marketing, Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd, Said the ePC will offer the service in cooperation with the Customs Department. “In line with the call by the government, the ePC, will offer the registration service as well as training for the GST. We will work with the Customs Department to enhance further the number of GST registrations from among government suppliers,” she told Bernama.
The UTC Sabah, which has been in operation since Dec 16, 2013 was officially opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak last night. Suriati said the UTC Sabah is a one-stop centre for government suppliers undertaking ePerolehan business. She added that the ePC services offered at the UTC involves customer services, PC pool and as a training centre. There are 16 such centres throughout the country with seven at the ePC.
According to Suriati, the centre receives enquiries from about 15,000 companies monthly on how to become government suppliers, make payments and attending trainings. Commerce Dot Com is a public commerce solutions provider which enables business transaction between private companies and the government. Positioned as a mediator, the company’s focus is to serve as a catalyst between the two via ePerloehan.
