Selangor Umno Pleads For Party To Continue To Have Trust In Them
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 – Selangor Umno has admitted its faults in losing the state during the previous two general elections. The state’s Umno delegate at the 2014 General Assembly, Datuk Zein Isma Ismail, asked Umno to continue to trust the state’s party leadership to work harder in the run up to the next general election.
Zein Isma, on behalf of Selangor Umno, promised not to repeat the same mistakes and vowed to regain Selangor from the Opposition. “There are a few factors to Umno Selangor losing, the first is the support of non-Malays and the second is the wrong choice of candidates. The third is that we had one ship with two captains.
“We promise not to repeat our mistakes and will work harder and will be more dedicated as a team. “Trust us to introduce more qualified candidates,” he said in debating the party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s policy speech at the General Assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre here today. Zein Isma, who is also Umno Sepang division chief, promised that Umno Selangor would stay strong and work hard in facing the 14th General Election.
“We are tired, and we are ashamed. Please trust the current leadership and believe in the fighting spirit of Umno Selangor members.” Earlier, Najib had reminded Umno Selangor liaison committee to be more sincere and not prioritise certain camps in their efforts to regain the state back from the Opposition.
