Syabas Advises Consumers To Pay On Time To Avoid Disconnection
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 – Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) has announced that the company will be disconnecting water supply in six areas in the state this December and advised consumers to settle their outstanding water bills immediately.
The areas affected are Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam. Syabas in a statement today said consumers whose water supply have been disconnected would be charged RM35 and a payment of RM35 must be made for reconnection of water supply.
The charges are not regarded as a fine or penalty but fixed charges for disconnecting and reconnecting of water supply services as gazetted by the Selangor government under the Water Supply Enactment 1997 and Rules of Selangor Water Supply (Charges) 2006 which are still applicable.
