GEORGE TOWN, Nov 28 – The Penang Hill funicular service will be closed for a week, from Jan 12 to 18 next year, for the annual preventive maintenance work, the Penang Hill Corporation said, Friday. The corporation said in a statement that the service would resume on Jan 19.
Visitors can opt for alternative routes via the jeep track (Botanical Garden) or the existing hiking route to get to the top of the hill, it said. Tourists and members of the public who want to know further details on the train service schedule can visit the website, www.penanghill.gov.my.
