BEIJING, Nov 30 – Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived here tonight for a six-day official visit to China aimed at further enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The special aircraft that carried the Deputy Prime Minister landed at the Beijing capital airport, here, at 10.15 pm Sunday (same date and time with Malaysia)
Muhyiddin is scheduled to call on Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli at the Great Hall of the People, the vice-premier’s office, here, before attending a dinner with the Malaysian community, here, tomorrow. The Malaysian leader will meet China’s top 500 captains of industries during a roundtable dialogue and dinner, here, on Tuesday, in a move to attract their foreign direct investment in Malaysia as well as further increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.
On Tuesday morning, Muhyiddin is scheduled to visit the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), here, where he will be accorded an honorary doctorate for his contribution in the education field. Later Muhyiddin will also visit Huawei Research and Development Centre, here, one of the world’s leading ICT solution provider.
He will be leaving for Shanghai on Tuesday night where he will be visiting educational institutions with focus on programmes for international student assessment the next day. On Thursday, Muhyiddin will be in Chongqing where he is scheduled to address the Sixth World Chinese Economic Forum before departing for home on Friday.
