KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20 – Indra Putra Mahayuddin brings Malaysia to a tie with Thailand after scoring the second goal at the 47th minute in the first half of the AFF Suzuki Cup second leg final match. The 34-year-old scored through a header leading the aggregate to a tie at 2-2 after Malaysia had lost 2-0 in its first leg on Wednesday. The first half ends with Malaysia leading the second leg match at 2-0, with Safiq Rahim having netted a penalty in the 6th minute.

Malaysians, at the stadium or on social networks are celebrating as they see a glimmer in the possibility of the home team lifting the cup tonight on home soil. “Let the dreams comes true. #HarimauMalaya,” Faris Naqib tweeted. “One more goal to seal the deal lads! Stay focused #BringItHomeMY,” Twitter user ‏@IqramCrackoo said.  On seeing the fighting spirit, user Hellbound commended the Harimau Malaya players for putting up a fight. “Harimau showing their stripes!!!” Malaysia now braces itself for the second half to commence after a nail-biting first half.
