AirAsia Flight Turn-Back, Technical Difficulty Reported
GEORGE TOWN, Dec 28 – An AirAsia jet en route to Langkawi made a turn-back after encountering ‘technical difficulties’. Flight AK6242 turned back some 10 minutes into the flight after departing the Penang International Airport at 4.30pm today.
A passenger, Subash Elangovan, told the New Straits Times that the pilot had announced it had encountered technical difficulties and had to ‘turn back’. It was later learnt that the flight was rescheduled to 6pm and had departed Penang. It was not known if the same Airbus A320 plane was used. AirAsia officials were not available for comment.
