Ushering In 2015 By Helping Flood Victims
GEORGE TOWN, Dec 28 – Creativision D.C. Sdn Bhd, the organiser for the New Year’s Eve celebration, has turned the event into a donation drive for flood victims. Its managing director, Adelyn Lim, said the decision to turn the entertainment event into a donation campaign showed its concern for the plight of flood victims.
“It is good to use it as a platform to collect donations for flood victims. “We hope to collect more than RM200,000,” she told a press conference here today. The event titled “10th Penang Golden New Year’s Eve Countdown Celebration” has been changed to “Love from Penang Fund-Raising Campaign For Flood Victims”.
It will include prayers and some areas in Padang Esplanade will become collection centres so that the public can make their contributions. The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) has been tasked to collect donations from 10am to midnight.
