Focus on retrieving bodies, Jokowi tells SAR
SURABAYA, Dec 30 – Indonesian president Joko Widodo has ordered for the focus to be on the retrieval of bodies from the target area. Speaking at the crisis centre here, Joko said looking at the murky location and waves up to three metres, he appreciated the help of the national search and rescue agency, police, navy and fishermen.
“I am thankful for the help extended by Malaysia, Singapore and Australia,” he said. “To the family members I feel your loss in this tragedy. I pray you find the strength and will to face this challenging time.” The SAR today retrieved several bodies from the waters near Pangkalan Bun after they spotted debris belonging to the ill-fated Indonesian Airasia plane.
