KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 – Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) says electricity supply in the whole of Kota Baharu, Kelantan has been fully reinstated as of 8 am today. In a statement here today, the national utility corporation said over 95 per cent of users in Kelantan are already getting electricity, with 1,864 of the 1,960 substations affected by the floods having resumed operations.
Senior General Manager (Operations Region 2), TNB Distribution Division Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid said TNB teams are working hard to restore power in the remaining areas still without electricity, including in Kuala Krai, Gua Musang and Tanah Merah districts.
Abdul Aziz is also TNB’s Flood Management chief coordinator. Meanwhile, the number of substations still not running in Pahang declined to 150 from the 584 shut down due to the floods, while in Perak, power from 47 substations has yet to be fully restored.
