SHAH ALAM, Jan 21 – Water disruptions are expected in several areas in Kuala Langat district, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) warned in a statement today. Syabas corporate communications and public affairs general manager Priscilla Alfred said the unscheduled water disruptions are due to low water pressures as a result of declining water levels in Kolam Air Bukit Lipat Kajang, Klang.
A total of 5,890 households will be affected in 11 areas. The affected places include Batu 7 Sijangkang, Batu 8 Sijangkang, Batu 9 Kampung Medan, Taman Desa Sijangkang, Taman Riveria Perdana, Taman Permai Sijangkang, Taman Sijangkang Indah, Taman Medan Indah, Taman Perwira, Taman Sijangkang Jaya, Taman Seri Medan. “The Selangor state government and Syabas is monitoring the situation and investigating the cause of the problem.
Any latest development will be informed to the public from time to time. “Water tankers and static tanks are on standby to be sent to affected areas if needed,” Priscilla said in the statement. She added that the water operator was working to ensure that the water disruptions would be resolved as soon as possible and advised consumers to use water wisely to help accelerate the recovery of the water supply.
