KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 – A total of 502 companies from 36 countries have confirmed their participation at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2015 (LIMA’15) from March 17 to 21. Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said it was an increase of 69 companies from the 2013’s edition of LIMA, hence making it the biggest in its history.
“Seventy per cent of the world’s biggest aerospace and maritime industry players with market capitalisation of over US$500 billion are participating in this year’s LIMA,” he said when delivering the Defence Minister’s Message 2015 here Wednesday. Besides, he said seven countries, including China, had also confirmed their participation in the aerobatic show, with Japan scheduled to make a debut appearance at LIMA.
An ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting will also be held in conjunction with LIMA this year, he said. “InsyaAllah, LIMA’15 will create a new standard for defence exhibition and also boost the local and global defence industries,” he added.
