KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 – PKR lawyer Latheefa Koya has confirmed that Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s request to attend the parliamentary sitting starting March 9 had been rejected by Malaysian Prisons director-general Datuk Zulkifli Omar.

When contacted by The Rakyat Post, she said that PKR had received the letter from Zulkifli Omar. “We have received the letter and it is confirmed that they rejected the request for Anwar to attend the parliamentary sitting. “We are currently writing a statement to respond to this.”

Earlier, Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi shared a Twitter posting by a local online portal on the rumour that Anwar’s request had been rejected. However, Ahmad Zahid’s tweet neither confirmed nor denied the decision.
