MUAR, March 10 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today paid his last respects to his late brother, Ustaz Abdul Rahman, 76, who died Monday night. Muhyiddin, who was accompanied by his political secretary, Datuk Md Tahir Md Taat, and Jorak state assemblyman Datuk Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh, arrived at Abdul Rahman’s residence in Taman Kenangan Tun Dr Ismail, Bakri, here at 9 am.

The deputy prime minister recited the Surah Yassin and joined in the funeral prayers led by nephew Ilham Imam. The remains of Abdul Rahman were taken to the Kampung Kenangan Jamek Mosque and then buried at the Batu 6 Muslim Cemetery in Bakri near here. Abdul Rahman was a retired teacher of the Saadiah Arabic school in Jalan Bakri here.
