KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 – A total 20 areas involving 65,796 homes in Klang and Shah Alam are expected to experience water disruption and low-pressure water flow because of a leaky pipe. Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) in a statement said the disruption was due to a leakage involving a 1700mm mild steel pipe. “As a result, the water supply from Bukit Mayong to Lambee on the 1700mm pipe line at Bukit Cherakah which leaked, had to be closed to enable repair work to be carried out quickly,” it said. Until this statement was issued, repair work which started since 1pm today was still ongoing and it is not known when it would be completed. Syabas said emergency water supply would be provided via tanker lorry and static water tank only after 24 hours.
