KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 – Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) confirmed that the ceiling at the Masjid Jamek Light Rail Transit (LRT) station collapsed this evening, but there were no casualties reported.  Prasarana (Communications and Media Affairs) senior manager Azhar Ghazali said in the incident at 2.10 pm, the ceiling structure at Platform 1 heading to Kelana Jaya was believed to have suddenly caved in. 

Nonetheless, he said LRT passenger operations resumed as normal shortly.  “There were no loss of lives…as there were no passengers at the location during the incident. The cause of the incident is still being investigated,” he said when contacted by Bernama.  According to Azhar, the affected area was cleared up at about 4.45 pm. – BERNAMA
