KUANTAN, APril 2 – Taking advantage of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) implementation, two men posed as customs officers and robbed a mini-market in Kampung Tengah here yesterday before fleeing with RM5,000 in cash and cigarettes. Kuantan police deputy chief, Supt Abdul Aziz Ahmad said today, the robbers escaped in a car in the 4.25pm incident.
He said the mini-market owner was approached by the duo who introduced themselves as customs officers on inspection rounds in lieu of the GST implementation. They then robbed the victim. Meanwhile, the police are in the midst of tracking down three men believed to be involved in a RM3,000 robbery at a photo shop in Jalan Air Putih here yesterday. In the 6.10pm incident, the trio were armed with a gun and machete. — Bernama
