BUKIT MERTAJAM, April 19 – A total of 36,611 dengue cases were recorded nationwide from January to yesterday, said Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya. He said until yesterday, 36,611 dengue cases were recorded compared to 27,177 for the same period last year.

“However the dengue cases have decreased in March and April from 3,500 to 1,600,” he told Bernama at an anti-dengue campaign ‘Jom Ganyang Aedes’ at Taman Guar Perahu Indah near here Saturday. Dr Hilmi said a total of 119 deaths were recorded during the same period compared to only 94 deaths last year. He said Selangor still recorded the highest cases of dengue followed by Perak, Johor and Penang.
