SINGAPORE, May 6 – Singapore and Malaysia have decided to push back the initial deadline to 2020 to complete the High Speed Rail Project (HSR) which connection both countries that it may given its complexity and scale today when joining the press conference between Najib and his Singapore counterpart Lee Hsien Loong at the Malaysia-Singapore Sixth Leaders Retreat.
“The development of the project will take five year to proceed.The tender and design also will take a year each to proceed too. So, its would pushed the initial target to 2020 further. The bilateral issues on the matter will be settled by end of the year and the new deadline for the project also will be announce soon,” said Malaysia Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
“The HSR terminus for the Singapore’s side will be located in Jurong East which is being developed by the republic as its next central business district. Besides that, the Malaysia HSR terminus side will start from Bandar Malaysia in Sungai Besi,” said Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
