GEORGETOWN, May 27 – Exco for Housing, Town & Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh with Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng announced Penang State Government will follow the Strata Management Act 2013 which established by the Federal Government that beginning on 1 June 2015 at Komtar today.
“In the new ruling, the developers and those related to the housing industry will have no disruption for strata title application and management issues would not be disrupted in Penang. The developers also had expressed concerns that Penang previously did not endorse the federal act,” said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.
“After we having a discussion with the state EXCO this morning and we have decided to follow the act so that there will not be any disruption. This is important as 60% of properties in Penang as namely the island which are stratified properties. In the moment, this also shows that we are willing to work together with the Federal Government,” he added.
