KUNDASANG, Jun 8 – Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and several VIPs forcing to evacuate from the building during visiting to Kinabalu Park here yesterday. There are attended together with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, Deputy Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan and PAS president Datuk Abdul Hadi Awang.
The Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was getting an update for earthquake survivors at the Liwagu building. Meanwhile, the ground was started to shake at about 1.35pm Sunday. The briefing with State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun and Ranau OCPD Deputy Supt Farhan Lee Abdullah stopped immediately as Muhyiddin’s bodyguards immediately ushered him out of the building.
The briefing is continued for about 30 minutes at the rear of the double storey concrete building under the midday sun. He told he reporters that the special assistance that from the Federal and Sabah Governments will be given out to the families of Malaysian victims of the earthquake such as :-
- Dead victims would each receive RM10,000 each
- Injured victims would be given RM2,000 each
- People who stranded on the mountain and traumatised during the experience would receive RM1,000 each.
