GEORGETOWN, Jun 20 – Penang Football Association (FAP) today received an additional RM2 million cash injection from the Penang Water Supply Corporation Holdings (PBAH). There were also attended by Deputy Chief Minister II, Prof. Dr. P. Ramasamy; Exco Religious Affairs, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Dato ‘Abdul Malik Abul Kassim and political secretary to the Chief Minister, who is also a Member of the Legislative Assembly (Assembly) Air Itam, Wong Hon Wai.

Joyce Lee Suan Imm has presentation the check of executed Director of Corporate Affairs PBAPP in front of the Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and FAP president Datuk Seri Nazir Ariff Mushir Ariff at Komtar here this morning. In the same time, there were also equally present of FAP coach Jacksen Ferreira Tiago in the press conference.

“The funds amounting to RM2 million is timely and meaningful, especially when Muslims around the world celebrate the month of Ramadan. Hopefully, in conjunction with the arrival of Ramadan, Penang squad could try again to reach our goal of joining the Super League next season,” said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

“Besides that, FAP has received a funds of RM6 million this season. We expect improved game performance and meet our expectations. I’m sure the abilities and experience of our Team coaches capable of driving to the next level and promised to give his best against opponents. We are aiming for the scores between 32-34 points for the second stage,” CM Lim said.

“We also expect the number of points collected can qualify Penang squad to Super League next year. For FAP coach Jacksen Ferreira Tiago was willing to undertake the responsibility for driving Penang squad better and set a target of joining the Super League was the anchor. The player (Team Penang) are all in a state of alert and I am sure they are the best even better than the previous matches,” he said.

For the record in the first round of 10 matches, Team Tiger Beetle won five matches which drawing four games and losing once. Penang squad is currently ranked fourth behind Sabah and Kedah T-Team and each topped the first and second leagues. Lastly, Penang squad will play against SPA Putrajaya FC away games tomorrow and matches scheduled on reciprocal June 22, 2015 at the Stadium ‘Sacred’ City.
