KUALA LUMPUR, Jul 4 – A weak earthquake has occurred at 10:35pm Thursday with a magnitude of 3.2 and depth 10km at Ranau, Sabah. According to the Meteorological Department statement, the epicentre of the quake was 6.0 North and 116.6 East, 8km Northwest of Ranau, Sabah and the tremors were felt in Ranau, Sabah. Besides that, the surrounding areas of an earthquake occur on June 5 with the measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck the Ranau was claiming 18 lives.
In the same time, the department also said in another statement of a moderate earthquake has occurred at 11:01pm with a magnitude of 5.4 and depth 10km at Eastern New Guinea Region, Papua New Guinea (PNG). According to the Meteorological Department statement, the epicentre of the quake was 5.8 South and 147.0 East, 100km north of Lae, Papua New Guinea and 3362km southeast of Semporna, Sabah and there were no Tsunami Threat.
