KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 – DAP veteran leader Lim Kit Siang attack by a group of about 50 people at the kopitiam in Masai, Johor yesterday afternoon. Lim Kit Siang escorted away by the organisers after half an hour when police were unable to control the situation. A group of people was throwing plastic bowls, cups and a broom at Lim Kit Siang and told DAP leader to go to die.
He was unhurt but the both of those who escorting him to his car were dealt with punches, while Johor DAP chief Liew Chin Tong had people allegedly trying to choke him when he made his way to his car. Lim Kit Siang was address the indigenous people was from Sabah and Sarawak who working in Pasir Gudang. The incident was occurred in the constituency of Pasir Gudang which also comes under the Johor MB Datuk Seri Mohd Khaled Nordin.
Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong said those who attacked Lim Kit Siang were from Pasir Gudang Umno division office bearers. He also reportedly said a text message to urged the people to stop Lim Kit Siang from entering the area. He added that they will make a police report on this matter and urging the Johor police chief to arrest the perpetrators.
