GEORGE TOWN, July 8 – Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said yesterday after the launching of Asia’s 1st Transformers Street Art at Dewan Dandaran, Penang that he would like to dismissed the claim by an assemblyman which the Penang government will build a casino on Penang Hill.

“I was shocked when I have receive the statement of a chinese newspapers which had reported on June 22 that quoting Tanjung Bungah assemblyman Teh Yee Cheu as saying that he had heard rumours that a casino would be built on Penang Hill. It was a slanderous,” he told the reporters during the press conference.

“I also would like to stated that it was my stand and that of the state government that we will not allow a casino to be built in the state when I was assumed the post of chief minister in 2008. Besides that, it was also the policy of the state government which there were not allow casino in Penang because it was not suitable for the local economy and the people,” he added.
