KUCHING, July 26 – Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) spokesman Andri Zulkarnaen Hamden who was also PAS former Sarawak Information chief said that GHB will contest in Sarawak’s next election due to the present of Sarawak state legislative assembly term are turn to expires in June next year.
“Sarawak GHB does not made any decision on between to contest as a party or an independent yet. In the same time, GHB will also appoint a committee out as fast as possible as we have already identified potential and experienced candidates,” said Andri Zulkarnaen Hamden.
“We are also confident that DAP and PKR had openly said that they will accept us and supported GHB’s formation all the way as a new party. Besides that, Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen was also announced that the party was leaving the state Pakatan Rakyat (PR) following PAS’ decision to approve the hudud in Kelantan,” he said.
“Meanwhile, we also would like to claim that PAS had already diverted from the PR pact by implementing the Islamic law which is DAP are still on holding 12 of the 71 seats in the state assembly while PAS has never won any seat in the state election,” he added.
