KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 – Southwest winds over the waters of Labuan as well as on the West Coast and Kudat, Sabah is expected to continue until Wednesday. Malaysian Meteorological Department said in a statement that strong winds are expected to hit a speed of between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour (kmph) with waves up to 3.5 meters.
The statement said that the same situation is expected to occur in the waters of Sulu. The situation is dangerous to small crafts, recreational activities and sea sports. Meanwhile, thunderstorms over the waters Kudat expected to be continue until this morning that result in winds of 50 kmph with waves up to 3.5 meters.
In addition, strong winds southwest at a speed of 50 and 60 kmph and waves of up to 4.5 meters are expected to occur in Phuket, Condore, Reef North, Layang-Layang and Palawan until this coming Wednesday. The condition of the strong winds and rough seas is dangerous to all shipping and coastal activities including fishing and ferry services.
