PUTRAJAYA, Oct 15 – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had been clarified it had never issued any statement on Wednesday with saying that 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) is not under investigation. MACC director of strategic communications Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob said that in a statement dated Sept 22 the MACC had only stated that it was not involved in the investigation on 1MDB.
“The government-owned strategic development company, was being investigated by the police and, as such, any query on the issue must be referred to the police. The matter was also clearer following the statement made by the Inspector-General of Police yesterday and an explanation before that through an MACC media statement dated Aug 5,” said Rohizad.
“In the same time, the MACC also hopes that there was no quarters will be issue in the statements with saying that the MACC has cleared parties involved in the 1MDB issue,” he said in a statement in reference to a media statement released by 1MDBon Wednesday.
