GEORGE TOWN, Nov 26 – Magistrate’s Court here today charged two Chinese men who produce harsh words and obstructing enforcement of the City Council of Penang Island (MBPP) on last month. Construction worker Bok Kwong Shen, 25, was fined for RM5,200 in default three months jail. 

His friend, Leong Wai Loon, 19, was fined for RM100 in default 20 days jail and sentenced with 150 hours of community service. The duo had been jointly charged with the offence under Section 186 of the Penal Code before Magistrate Sharifah Izura Syed Mashor.

In the meantime, Leong had also been charged under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 before Magistrate Umma L. Umma Devi. Deputy public prosecutor Azura Zulkiflee prosecuted at both courts, while the accused were represented by defence counsellor Tan Guat Cheng.
