GEORGE TOWN, Nov 26 – DAP must remember that the state of Penang is not its personal property nor is it a party asset said MCA Youth Vice-Chairman Nicole Wong. He said it must practise transparency over the sea reclamation projects on the island and make public the projects’ impact on the surrounding areas and the environment.

“Further proof of DAP treating Penang as its personal property is when two of its MPs Lim Lip Eng (Segambut) and Ng Wei Aik (Tanjong) had challenged MCA Youth chairman Senator Chong Sin Woon to contest in Penang in the coming 14th General Election,” Nicole said.

“As the government of Penang, which had bragged on its policy of competency, accountability and transparency, why are they now rejecting the public’s appeal to stop the sea reclamation? Is there a hidden secret to their actions?” he asked in a statement here on Wednesday.

“Ever since its victory in the 12th and 13th General Elections in Penang, DAP has grown more arrogant day by day. They are taking the people for granted by treating Penang as a DAP party asset, and the best proof of their arrogance is their quick reaction to challenge their enemies to contest in Penang,” he added.
